Dosha Assessment and Consultations
Understanding your personal Doshas (Prakriti) or Ayurveda mind-body type is the first step in developing your Ayurveda program. During a Dosha Assessment or Consultation with Dr. Lina, she will determine your mind-body type by question and answer, checking your pulse and evaluating your daily lifestyle activities and schedule.
Identifying your Dosha creates the foundation for her Full Consultation. In a Full Consultation, Dr. Lina reviews your present health along with your own health goals. She then develops a personalized program of daily regiment utilizing Ayurveda diet and lifestyle changes to support optimal mind-body wellness. These recommendations will improve your health, balance, and restore your entire being. You didn't know you could feel this good!
What to expect when enrolling in an Ayurveda program
Ayurveda Therapy is not a single consultation. It is instead an introduction to a series of many aspects of Ayurveda, slowly and steadily, to restore mind and body wellness over a period of time. In order to gain the maximum benefits from an Ayurveda program, please consider participating in all of the following steps:
1) Introductory Consultation (60 Minutes) to identify your body type and Doshas. This start-up plan includes Diet improvement recommendations, Lifestyle improvements, Detoxification therapies and encouragement for body type yoga postures along with medication.
2) Follow-up Consultations are necessary every 3 months to accommodate seasonal changes and tips.
3) Ayurveda Cooking Classes
| Poorna Basic – Level 1 and Level 2 Cooking Classes (2 sessions) provide encouragement and guidance for learning and practicing the basic diet and lifestyle of an Ayurveda program. As an important aspect of Ayurveda Therapy and the restoration of health, fresh foods, home preparation, and home cooking are strongly recommended.
Poorna Complete Cooking – In order to incorporate a more detailed food plan that heals and restores digestive tract health, six sessions of the Poorna Advanced classes are recommended. The Poorna cooking course consists of a nutrient dense food plan, elimination of empty calories, and an emphasis on improving digestion with maximum absorption of food nutrients. |
4) Abhyanga & Special Healing Therapies – Ayurvedic massage is strongly recommended as a detox therapy, as well as for stress management, in conjunction with the Diet Lifestyle plan. A key aspect in Ayurveda is cleansing the system to eliminate toxins from the body that have accumulated due to improper diets, lifestyle, stress, food pesticides, adverse effects of medicine and environmental pollutants. Regular Self-Abhyanga (self-massage) and a monthly Full Body Massage with a professional Abhyanga therapist are an important step in an Ayurveda program.
Also advised are special healing therapies as per specific imbalance .
